Her file said sixty-three. Marisol asked what she was doing, expecting to hear about a laser. The answer was castor oil. She had used it since her twenties, on everything.
Marisol had been told to try it for a decade and had said no every time. It sounded messy, it sounded too good to be true, and the oils on the shelf sat in plastic.

Modern wellness kept asking women for more. More steps, more supplements, more optimizing, stacked onto lives that were already full. In her naturopathic practice, Dr. Marisol saw what that pressure was costing the women in front of her. They were not looking for another routine. They were craving fewer steps, less pressure, and a real way back to themselves.
She realized the answer was not something new.
It was something remembered.
