WHY WHAT IS IN THE BOTTLE MATTERS
Explore practical guidance and expert advice to help you feel confident at every step.
Castor oil is one of the most powerful carrier oils there is. That is what makes it extraordinary, and it is exactly why what is in the bottle matters more here than with almost anything you own.
Most castor oil sits in plastic on a warm shelf for months. Much of it is extracted with chemical solvents. Most has never been third-party tested.
Ours is organic, hexane-free, third-party tested, ECOCERT and USDA certified, and ALWAYS in glass.
We move it in stainless steel drums from our sources in India, which is the least economical way to transport it and worth every cent.
Your ritual starts with what's in the bottle, so we start with the strictest standard there is. Our castor oil is certified USDA Organic, grown without synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Pure enough to become part of your daily practice, because what you pour on your skin every day should be held to a higher bar.
Result: Not Detected (ND) for all major phthalates, including DEHP, DBP, DINP, DCHP, and others.
Result: Below detection limits for arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury — fully compliant with safety thresholds.
Result: Compliant for all Class 1, 2, and 3 solvents under USP <467> — no concerning levels detected.
Result: Ricinoleic acid measured at ~84.8% (target 85–92%), with balanced supporting fatty acids — slightly below USP spec but consistent with high-quality performance.
Microbial Suitability:
Passed USP methods for detecting pathogens (C. albicans, Pseudomonas, Staphylococcus, E. coli).
Microbiological Contamination:
<10 cfu/g total microbial count — very clean.
Water Activity:
0.18 — too low to support microbial growth; no preservatives needed.
12-Week Stability:
No significant change in odor, color, weight, or appearance under accelerated storage.
These tests are primarily for EU/UK compliance, but we share them here to give you the full picture.ead, and mercury — fully compliant with safety thresholds.
