Castor Oil Packs work by keeping Castor Oil comfortably in place against the skin for an extended period of time. They also create a simple container for slowing down and building a consistent self-care ritual. What you experience from the ritual is personal, and consistency matters more than looking for one specific feeling or result.
Apply Castor Oil, secure your pack comfortably in place, and settle into the ritual. Depending on your preference, oil can be applied directly to the skin or onto the organic cotton inner layer. There isn't one sensation you need to feel for your Castor Oil Pack ritual to be “working.” You may simply notice the grounding feeling of slowing down, softer moisturized skin, or that the ritual helps you create a clear moment of reconnection. No dramatic sensation or reaction is required.
Expect the experience to feel simple rather than dramatic. Your skin may feel soft and nourished, while you may feel more grounded, settled, or connected after taking intentional time for yourself. Over time, the pack will also become naturally saturated with Castor Oil as it becomes part of your regular ritual.
A 100% organic cotton liner that sits inside your Liver, Pelvic, or Kids pack. It is reusable and helps extend the life of your pack, so the ritual stays simple. Tick “Add the matching Less Mess Liner” on the pack card to add the right one.
Option 1, baking soda and warm water: rinse the pack with warm water, sprinkle a small amount of baking soda over any oily areas, and gently rub to help lift the oil. Rinse thoroughly, then hang to air dry completely before storing.
Option 2, dishwasher: place your pack on the top rack and run a cycle using clean dishwasher detergent.
Whichever method you choose, make sure your pack is completely clean and dry before storing it.
