Fret not, because spring has sprung! And with it comes the perfect opportunity to hit the reset button, agreed? But let’s face it, embarking on a cleanse can sometimes feel like trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded – confusing, overwhelming, and just a tad frustrating.

Not to worry though, because I’m here to be your guide through this journey, armed with the ancient wisdom of natural cleansing and the modern magic of Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil practices.

So, grab your favorite mug of herbal tea, cozy up, and let’s dive into the wonderful world of natural spring cleansing together!

What is a full body cleanse?

Do you find yourself wondering what exactly a cleanse is, and why they may be beneficial? Well, much like our shelves and living space becomes cluttered, so does our body.

What is a full body cleanse by Queen of the Thrones
This build up of ‘stuff’, or in the case of cleanses, toxins, can really hinder how well our body manages its natural processes, and can even make us feel weighed down, and out of sync with ourselves… Can you relate?

Cleansing and detox are natural functions your body does everyday that are crucial for staying healthy. They help remove harmful substances from our cells, which can otherwise cause sickness and even death if left unchecked. This process includes getting rid of toxins from both outside sources (like pollution) and those produced within our bodies.1

It’s clear that our world is getting more polluted, with chemicals from industry, pesticides, heavy metals, and radiation. These toxins can harm us in many ways, like causing cancer, messing with our reproductive system, affecting our metabolism, and even impacting our mental health. They build up in our bodies over time, especially through the food we eat. Sometimes, when different toxins mix together, they can become even more dangerous than they are on their own.2

So, where exactly do we begin to understand the different types of cleanses, and which may be right for you? Let’s explore further!

Types of cleanses

Embarking on a journey to cleanse your body can lead to renewed energy, clearer skin, and support your overall well-being. But with so many options available, where do you begin?

Whether you’re looking to kickstart a healthier lifestyle or simply give your body a reset, understanding these different approaches will empower you to make informed choices for your wellness journey.

Liver cleansing

When you think of cleansing your body, your mind probably goes right to liver cleansing, right? Well, you’re right, supporting liver cleansing is a great place to start when beginning your cleanse and detox journey.

Why supporting liver detox is important for your health by Queen of the Thrones
The liver acts as your body’s defender against harmful chemicals. It does this by changing these chemicals into forms that can easily be flushed out of your body through urine, bowel movements, or even sweat.

This protective process relies on special enzymes in the liver that help break down and neutralize these toxins. However, sometimes these enzymes can also turn chemicals into more harmful substances. This variation in enzyme activity can affect how your body reacts to different drugs and toxins.

By giving your liver a little extra care and attention, like a cleanse, you’re setting yourself up for a healthier detox journey.3

Colon cleanse

Chances are, you’ve likely heard of a “colon cleanse” before, right? It’s not just a passing trend; in fact, it’s an important step in the cleanse and detox journey.

Widely recognized as a way to flush out toxins and rejuvenate your system, colon cleansing has gained popularity for its potential health benefits.

The importance of supporting colon cleansing by Queen of the Thrones
Can supporting colon cleansing help with certain ailments? It seems so!

One popular way to support colon cleansing is colon hydrotherapy A.K.A. colon irrigation, where water is fed into the colon to help flush out waste. Studies suggest it might be useful for things like bowel issues, constipation, and fecal incontinence. Some people even find relief after surgery.4

Lymphatic cleanse

Now, I know what you’re thinking, what on earth is a lymphatic cleanse? It might sound unfamiliar, but stick with me – it’s an essential piece of the puzzle for detoxifying your body.

Here are some benefits of manual lymphatic drainage techniques (MLDTs) when it comes to supporting your body to cleanse and detox:

  • Stimulating the lymphatic system: MLDTs may help support lymph circulation, allowing your body to get rid of waste more effectively.
  • Removing biochemical wastes: By speeding up the removal of toxins from your tissues, MLDTs encourage detoxification.
  • Supporting fluid dynamics: MLDTs enhance fluid movement in your body, which may help balance swelling (edema).
  • Balancing stress: MLDTs can help calm your nervous system, leading to a more relaxed and balanced state.5

Juice cleanse

The health of our gut microbiota is really important for overall wellness, agreed?

When we drink vegetable and fruit juices, we’re getting a dose of polyphenols, oligosaccharides, fiber, and even nitrate (like beet juice), which could act like prebiotics, supporting good gut health.

Juice cleanses have become quite trendy lately, and one study investigating a 3 day juice cleanse showed significant changes in the gut microbiome which were associated with weight loss. 6 More research is needed in this area.

So what is a juice cleanse exactly? A juice cleanse is a unique way to help your body detox. It involves drinking only fruit or vegetable juices for three to ten days while avoiding solid foods. The idea is if you give your digestion a “break” by only consuming nutrient-rich fluids, more energy can be focused on flushing out the “junk.”

Juice Cleansing by Queen of the Thrones
Let’s be honest, juice cleanses can be appealing often due to the fact that they promise quick weight loss by cutting down on calories for a short period. But here’s the catch: once you go back to your normal eating routine, that weight often creeps back up.

So, yes, these trendy diets might help you drop some pounds, but it’s partly because you’re eating less.7

What about a 7 day body cleanse?

When it comes to cleansing, the idea of committing to weeks or even months can seem overwhelming. However, a 7-day body cleanse offers a manageable alternative that can still provide significant benefits.

Let’s explore how a 7-day food-based cleanse may help support your wellness!

7-Day Mediterranean Castor Oil Pack Cleanse

How Queen of the Thrones Castor Oil Packs help you to cleansing your body

Let’s dive into the wonderful world of cleansing with a twist—the 7-Day Mediterranean Castor Oil Pack Cleanse (A.K.A. The Genesis Cleanse).

This type of cleanse isn’t just a passing fad; it’s deeply rooted in centuries-old traditions of healthy living around the Mediterranean region, and the Mediterranean diet is one of the most researched and popular diets globally, linked to numerous health benefits.8

Picture this: vibrant markets brimming with fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, and olive oil. A Mediterra- nean cleanse isn’t just about what you eat; it’s a lifestyle celebrated for its heart-healthy benefits and delicious flavors.

For centuries, people living in countries like Greece, Italy, and Spain have embraced this way of eating, rich in whole grains, lean proteins, and plenty of plant-based goodness.9

Now, let’s dive into a new take on cleansing with Mediterranean foods and Castor Oil Packs, that’s inspired by the 7 days of creation in the book of Genesis.

Unlike extreme juice cleanses or strict diets, the 7-Day Mediterranean Cleanse, also known as The Genesis Cleanse, is designed so that you don’t have to feel restricted; rather expansive and satisfied. You’ll enjoy vibrant salads, grilled fish, whole grains, and of course, the wonderful olive oil—while taking a break from processed foods and sugars.

Spring rituals for cleansing

Ah, springtime—the season of renewal and fresh starts. While many people think of cleansing as just detoxing with juices or healthy foods, there’s another side to it that’s all about spiritual renewal.

Spring cleansing goes beyond what you eat; it’s about clearing out the old energy and making space for new, positive vibes.

One popular way to do this is through spiritual practices like burning sage to cleanse your space and yourself.

Burning sage sticks and allowing the smoke to waft through your home or around your body is believed to clear away stagnant energy and support a sense of clarity and peace.

Another beautiful practice is setting intentions or affirmations for the season ahead.

Take a moment to reflect on what you want to invite into your life—whether it’s joy, love, or a renewed sense of purpose—and speak these intentions aloud or write them down as a form of spiritual cleansing and manifestation.

Spring offers a natural opportunity to align with the energy of renewal and growth. Incorporating these spiritual cleansing practices into your routine can help you welcome the season with a refreshed mind, body, and spirit.

In closing…

As we embrace the essence of spring and explore different avenues of cleansing and renewal, remember that wellness is a holistic journey encompassing body, mind, and spirit.

While detox diets and juice cleanses can kickstart physical health goals, complementing these practices with spiritual cleansing practices adds a deeper layer of rejuvenation.

Consider incorporating simple yet powerful techniques like burning sage for energetic cleansing or setting heartfelt intentions to align with the season’s transformative energy.

And for gentle, nurturing support throughout your wellness journey, Castor Oil Packs may be just the extra TLC you’ve been looking for when it comes to your overall well-being.

As you navigate this season of renewal, remember to listen to your body and honor your inner rhythms. May your spring be filled with growth, vitality, and a renewed sense of balance.

Here’s to embracing wellness in all its forms—body, mind, and spirit!

Mother Nature’s Medicine: The Moon, Menstruation, Seed Cycling & Castor Oil Packs

Have you ever wondered if the full moon is controlling everything from your sleeping patterns to how irritable you feel when you’re stuck in traffic? Is the moon like a puppet master directing your every move? It’s possible, right?

In case you didn’t know, it’s no coincidence that your menstrual cycle is the same number of days, as the days on the calendar, as is the full rotation of the moon around the earth.

Everything is interconnected and the moon is controlling much more than you think. Makes sense, agreed? You’re in the right place because we’re going to discuss how the moon cycles impact your hormones and help you discover the pros and cons of seed cycling for hormone imbalance.

Beyond the days of your monthly menstrual cycle, it has an impact on every aspect of your physiology, not only your hormones.

It’s most notable in your moods and key symptoms of unbalanced hormones, your problems with your period and infertility, and even your low levels of the nightime hormone melatonin, affecting how well you sleep1.

Mother Nature’s Medicine: Seed Cycling and your period problems.

You see, mother nature carries many secrets up her sleeves on how to work with the moon cycle, for your menstrual problems.

Eating seeds is one way, in what is known as the practice of seed cycling, and is said to possibly support healthier periods cycles.

Single seed cycling by Queen of the Thrones

However, another easier, often better tolerated alternative for those who can’t eat seeds frequently and repetitively, as required in seed cycling, is ” Single” Seed Cycling done with Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Packs.

The Difference between Seed Cycling and “Single” Seed Cycling

The traditional seed cycling protocol alternates what seeds to eat at different times of the month according to your hormones and the moon: flax, pumpkin, sesame and sunflower seeds.

One downfall for many women with hormonal problems is that these seeds can cause digestive distress when repeatedly consumed, creating a leaky gut or aggravating a pre-existing condition.

Additionally, it can become a hassle preparing the seeds, coordinating when to eat each kind, and finding new recipes to keep things exciting. Many often start this protocol with the best of intentions but give up shortly after starting. Sound familiar?

“Single” Seed Cycling, on the other hand, soothes digestive distress and is simply less hassle, by using Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Packs for Liver , instead of eating seeds.

“Single” Seed Cycling is supportive for your well-being, working from the outside in.

Therefore, it’s a great alternative if you’re tired of taking so many supplements and would rather do a self-care practice as easy as wearing a Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Pack for Liver or using the Queen of the Thrones® Hormone Balance & Detox Kit, on a different part of the body, at different times of the month according to the moon cycles.

Plus, there’s an additional bonus with “Single” Seed Cycling with Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Packs.

You see, because there are many more benefits with using Castor Oil Packs, which are a traditional therapy that have been used as a traditional therapy that have been used for wellness since the beginning of time, first with the Egyptians and even the father of medicine, Hippocrates.

The benefits of these Castor Oil Packs, beyond supporting hormone cycling include, but are not limited to supporting:

Sounds good, am I right? It’s clearly a natural choice that’s so much easier to do, with so many benefits. Makes sense, agreed?

Queen of the Thrones benefits of Castor oil Packs.

Mother Nature’s Medicine: Chronobiology for your menstrual cycle

It’s nice to have options and tools to support the optimization of your period and hormone balance, that work with the rhythms and cycles of nature, right? This is a branch of medicine known as chronobiology.15

So, since we are biological beings, these practices aren’t simple folklore, but show clinical practice evidence that we are affected by the moon. Plus, this is one of many ways our bodies keep time.

We may not be as intensely possessed by the moon as say a werewolf, but hey, we all have our hormonal moments now, don’t we? Some of us do become rabid beasts at that time of the month when the moon is shining bright, right?

Think of it like this: You’ve had a bad day, you look at the calendar and you see it’s a full moon. Is it a coincidence?

Maybe, maybe not.

What’s the research about the moon, seed cycling & hormones?

Preliminary research is in the works, one study of interest done at old age homes couldn’t find a connection between weird mood changes and the full moon.16

However, it was done with an elderly population in an old age home, at a time in life when hormone levels are at their lowest. With moods and the moon being highly interconnected to your hormones17, not the best people to study to find the truth. Agreed?

So if one study that may have not had the best methodology says it’s not connected, it doesn’t mean it’s hocus pocus. It just means we need more research or clinical practice.

Clinical experience: The moon, hormones & seed cycling

Just ask any nurse who has worked an emergency shift on a full moon, they will give you their side of story, usually including how crazy and full of patients the hospital can get on those crazy full moon eve’s.

It’s enough to make sure you look at the calendar for where the moon cycle is at before booking an important procedure or going under the knife! Agreed?

You see, what I love about research is that it can come in the forms of clinical study, but also from a clinical practitioner’s perspective through patient observation.

The traditional seed cycling protocol, along with the easier reinvented “Single” Seed Cycling was developed along these lines, from functional integrative medicine practices and health and wellness coaches, much like yourself.

Even though these protocols have little scientific research, as in double blind placebo controlled studies, the gold standard in medicine. The lack of this research doesn’t make it wrong, it just hasn’t been studied that way yet, and may very well never be studied that way for various reasons, two of which I’ll discuss here.

Queen of the Thrones single seed cycling using castor oil packs

Mother nature only likes to be tested in her natural environment

The most important one being that mother nature isn’t the type to be put into a box and given only 2 variables to work with.

Mother nature is a product of her environment, and as such, there are millions of variables at play in the environment, the temperature, the wind, the sunlight, the food and nourishment, the exercise, the practices, the social contact, and the list goes on and on.

So, this makes it hard to study scientifically, especially using a double blind placebo scientific method. There are simply too many variables to test in nature and natural environments. Makes sense, right?

Mother nature doesn’t have deep pockets to pay for studies

The lack of funding for studies such as these impacts the understanding of the true effect of this practice. Deep pockets like those in the pharmaceutical industry fund studies that go towards new drugs, not natural medicine protocols.

Moreover, what we do know helps illuminate our choices of care in integrative and functional medicine settings.

As a practitioner, when you’re prescribing protocols like seed cycling, it’s often a combination of an in depth understanding of physiology of how the body works from a “functional” perspective”, as well as the knowledge of the ingredients used, such as flax seed, well known for its effects in hormonal wellness.18

Combining these, along with clinical observation and experience of the practical use of mother nature’s tools, like the traditional seed cycling protocol or “Single” Seed Cycling, using Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Packs, are both ethical protocols because they’re not likely to cause harm and may even provide benefit beyond what is hypothesized.

Except in the case of traditional seed cycling. Although seed cycling is one of the most highly popularized natural food and lifestyle-based practices for hormone balance, it has the worst compliance.

But why?

Well, because of digestive disturbances from repetitively eating the seeds and the hassle of preparation, seed cycling has the worst compliance. Makes sense, agreed?

The “Single” Seed Cycling protocol with Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Packs is an easier, often more tolerated alternative that overcomes these objections.

Seed cycling’s goal: Naturally balance your hormones with the moon.

So, if you want a clearer understanding of your physiology, simply start by tracking what you see in your monthly fluctuations.

I’m sure you’ve already noticed how some weeks of your monthly cycle you feel much different than others, am I right?

Some weeks you feel bloated and tired, while others have you experiencing hormonal fluctuations that leave you crying, craving, or wanting more of your partner or yourself, and then the next moment you’re completely withdrawn. Can you relate?

Queen of the Thrones how castor oil packs contribute to menopause

You see, hormonal balance is when you experience less ups and downs over your monthly moon guided period cycle. Makes sense, agreed?

It’s time to understand…

  1. Why your body does what it does.
  2. What role the moon plays in your monthly menstrual cycle and your hormone unbalance.
  3. An extra tool you should have in your self care tool box to support your hormonal balance.

Would you love that?

“Single” Seed Cycling protocol with Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Packs is a simple way for you to support your hormones so you can align with the moon and mother nature, the easy way.

Can the solar eclipse affect hormones?

Many have speculated about the moon’s influence on human behavior and physiology. From myths about full moons affecting moods to beliefs about lunar cycles influencing menstrual cycles. However, what about the lesser-discussed solar eclipse? Could it also have an impact on our hormones?

As we gear up for the much-anticipated solar eclipse of 2024, it’s worth exploring the relationship between this event and our hormonal balance.

What exactly is a solar eclipse?

A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun, temporarily blocking the sun’s light. During this captivating event, the sky darkens, and observers may witness the sun’s corona, creating a spectacle that has fascinated civilizations throughout history.

What is an eclipse by Queen of the Thrones

But does this cosmic display have any tangible effects on our bodies or our hormones? While there’s limited scientific research specifically linking solar eclipses to hormonal changes, there could be a potential connection.

One area of interest is the influence of solar eclipses on melatonin production. Melatonin, often dubbed the “sleep hormone,” regulates our sleep-wake cycles and plays a crucial role in maintaining our body’s circadian rhythm. Some believe that the sudden darkness during a solar eclipse could disrupt melatonin levels, leading to temporary sleep disturbances or alterations in mood.

Can the solar eclipse affect the menstrual cycle?

Now, what about the menstrual cycle? Can a solar eclipse affect it? While there’s no direct scientific evidence linking the two, some individuals claim to experience changes in their menstrual patterns coinciding with celestial events.19 It’s essential to approach such claims with a critical eye, recognizing that many factors influence hormonal fluctuations and menstrual cycles. Stress, diet, exercise, and overall health play significant roles in hormonal balance, often overshadowing any potential effects of celestial events like solar eclipses. While the solar eclipse of 2024 promises to be a captivating sight, its impact on our hormones remains largely speculative.

Hormone-Balancing Carrot Juice Recipe

During the solar eclipse and other celestial events, maintaining hormonal balance is great for your self-care. Carrots, energetically resonating with the color of the sun, are believed to ground and support the body during these times.

Queen of the Thrones hormone balancing beat juice

Here’s a simple recipe for a hormone-balancing carrot juice:

How Castor Oil Packs Support Drainage Pathways While Detoxing

Discover how Castor Oil Packs may help support your liver, kidneys and other detox organs as they naturally cleanse your body of toxins.

Why you still need to detox even though you have detox organs

Yes! You still have to detox even though you have a liver and kidneys!

Why?

Well, keep reading because I’m going to share with you the top ways to support detoxification with Castor Oil Packs.

Why is detoxing so important?

To start, we live in an extremely toxic environment! Am I right?

Every day we need to try to avoid these exposures, and clear any toxins that we’ve already absorbed by supporting our body’s natural detoxification and drainage pathways.

To give you a better idea of what we’re up against with environmental toxins, Krista Shennum wrote in an article for Human Rights Watch that states,

“Since 1950, chemical production has increased fiftyfold, and it is projected to triple from 2010 to 2050. Of the 350,000 chemicals in use, only a small number have been fully assessed for safety1.”

Unfortunately, these toxins can accumulate in your body and stress out your liver...but more on that later!

Who has the most exposure to toxins?

Because of things like beauty and skin care products, which are typically loaded with chemical toxins as well as heavy metals, endocrine disruptors, and carcinogens, women have the most exposure to toxins.

In fact, it is estimated that the average woman is exposed to over 168 toxins before she even walks out the door every day (as reported by the EWG)2. As you can see, the relationship between over-toxicity and the incidence of hormonal imbalance that women are experiencing at an increasing rate is no coincidence.

So if women are over-exposed, babies have the risk of over-exposure as well.

An article from the World Wildlife Fund states that,

“In a study for the Environment Working Group in the United States, two major laboratories tested the cord of 10 newborn babies for 413 chemicals. They found that the blood in the babies’ cords contained an average of 200 industrial chemicals and pollutants.”

It goes on to say,

“As cord blood reflects what is being carried through the placenta, this shows that man-made chemicals that have entered the women’s bodies are being passed directly to the unborn baby” . . . “Altogether 287 chemicals were detected in umbilical cord blood, including 209 of which had never been detected before in cord blood. One hundred and eighty of these are carcinogenic, 217 are toxic to the brain and nervous system, and 208 cause birth defects or abnormal development in animal tests3.”

And in this article, Sophie Uliano writes that,

“Among the chemicals found, there were eight perfluorochemicals used as stain and oil repellents in fast food packaging, clothes and textiles — including the Teflon chemical PFOA, recently characterized as a likely human carcinogen by the EPA’s Science Advisory Board — dozens of widely used brominated flame retardants and their toxic by-products; and numerous pesticides4.”

So clearly, we are living in the most toxic environment that man has ever been exposed to. So, with that being said, our body’s detoxification systems have never before had this much burden.

What happens when your body carries such a high toxic load?

Well, we are seeing an ever-expanding epidemic of health concerns including gallbladder dysfunction (which is generally a side effect of liver stagnation), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), which is also a sign of liver burden, and lastly, blood sugar dysregulation or metabolic syndrome.

All these issues point to a weak and overburdened liver and drainage dysfunction.

With all things considered, we should all incorporate detoxification as a daily practice in order to support our bodies in this toxic world we’re living in.

How do we support detoxification?

Well, detoxification is more involved than the juice cleanses you see on social media!

Supporting your body’s natural detoxification processes has to be your priority before you jump into any sort of detox.

Why?

Because if your drainage pathways are clogged and not cleansing properly, you are simply recycling toxins and putting more and more of a burden on your liver.

Forgetting to support your natural detox and drainage pathways is very common and can cause you to feel worse when you do start a detox program. In fact, this worsening of symptoms during a cleanse even has a name.

We call it a “herxheimer reaction”. Basically, it is caused by your body releasing more toxins into the bloodstream than it has the ability to clear at that time.

So how do you avoid these uncomfortable symptoms?

Good question!

Actually, avoiding detox symptoms is something I help my patients discover on a daily basis. This is also why working with a professional is ideal if you want to detox properly. Truly, you can avoid a lot of unpleasantries if you know what to look for with drainage burden and other biofeedback markers.

The one thing you can do today, though, is support your drainage pathways.

The systems I am going to focus on here (and the ones I find to be the most problematic) are the liver/biliary tree and lastly the colon pathways.

My top 3 tips for avoiding dreaded detox symptoms

Ways to help avoid detox symptoms by Queen of the Thrones

Support your liver

One great way to help support your liver detoxification is by wearing a Castor Oil Pack on your liver. My favorite is Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Packs.

To support your liver, you also want to stop or at least limit your exposure to toxins.

Look for toxic products in your home, your food, and your environment, and minimize them as much as possible! On top of that, supporting glutathione can be extremely helpful in doing this.

My two favorite ways to support glutathione are Castor Oil Packs5 and coffee enemas. Coffee enemas are more of an “advanced practice” in my opinion, so I always start my patients with Castor Oil Packs first.

Support your bile

Did you know that inadequate bile production is the MAIN cause for gallbladder dysfunction?

Whether it’s liver stagnation or sluggish bile, both can be prevented and treated.

My favorite way to support the bile is by adding bile salts to a patient’s protocol. This may help support more fluidity of the bile and help the liver at the same time.

Your liver and gallbladder work synergistically, so if there is dysfunction in one, there is generally dysfunction in the other. (Always speak to your practitioner before adding in any supplementation!)

Support your colon

Your bowels have to keep moving!

If your colon pathway is clogged and your bowels are not moving, you are becoming more and more toxic because these poisons are not being moved out of your system5

This is extremely common in a lot of patients that I work with and leads to more liver burden, cholesterol, hormone imbalance, and NAFLD.

So, it is extremely important to make sure you are supporting the colon pathway.

We can bring back the Castor Oil Pack for this because it may help support bowel movement regularity 6, 7. Also looking into deficiencies like magnesium and Vitamin C can be extremely helpful. (I have yet to have a patient who isn’t magnesium deficient!)

Always begin with drainage

By supporting these drainage pathways, your body will be better able to detox naturally. Most of the time, your body systems just need a little bit of support.

I always start my patients here, and sometimes, supporting drainage alone may be all that they need to start feeling better!

The 5 Keys for Supporting Drainage

  • Liver Support
  • Focus on fiber in diet as well as hydration
  • Support deficiencies
  • Make sure bowels are moving
  • Stop your toxin bucket from overfilling!

These are things that anyone can start doing and incorporating daily.

Something as simple as wearing a Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Pack  in the evening and being cognizant of your water and fiber intake are practices that seem so simple, may end up doing the most.

The healing truly begins when we support the body’s natural detoxification systems.

How Adding Emotional Release Techniques Can Enhance Your Detox Results

You have probably heard that your body can store emotions, like anger in the liver and fear in the kidneys. That can’t be healthy, right? The body and mind are constantly in a dance trying to find balance and health, but sometimes our emotions and mental health get in the way of healing.

There is no doubt that our minds, bodies and spirits are inextricably interconnected. So, to address one aspect of health without addressing the others will lead to suboptimal results.

This understanding is where the term “holistic” comes from. Many people use it interchangeably with “natural”, but it is not always the same. In truth, holistic health means treating the whole person; body, mind and spirit.

How unprocessed emotions affect your body

Unprocessed or stored emotions can land anywhere in the body. When your body holds onto a negative emotion or a low-vibration (possibly shame, anger, or resentment) – it can lead to congestion in your system.

The body understands things in biochemical terms, so emotions translate into hormones and neurotransmitters that have specific effects on your organs, tissues and systems.

Your body is meant to be a flow system with nutrition coming in (including information and feelings) and waste (including processed emotions) being released.

Why is emotional release important for mental health?

Emotions are a beautiful and natural part of being human, but we need to recognize and properly address them. When we don’t have the time, the bandwidth, or the tools to do so, eventually they may manifest into another form somewhere down the line. This could be physical symptoms like tension in the shoulders, mental illness, or even dis-ease.

Castor Oils Packs for holistic wellness

As a practitioner who has been in the field of natural health for 28 years and the founder of Mind Body Spirit Release Academy™, I’ve worked with thousands of clients and students.

It’s only when my clients integrate these 2 powerful strategies that they’re finally able to uplevel their wellness:

    1. Mental health and emotional release techniques
    2. Detoxification practices

And one of my favorite self-care tools, the Castor Oil Pack, happens to support both.

What to expect with emotional release and Castor Oil Packs

It is not uncommon for people to release extra toxins, yeast, and even parasites while pairing Castor Oil Packs with emotional release techniques

This happens when we release low-vibration, unprocessed emotions. The body’s channels of toxin elimination are opened up and waste of all kinds can find its way out of the body.

Often, after this release, clients and students remark that they feel a huge sense of relief, like an invisible weight being lifted. Many feel as though they’ve been transformed in their physical and mental health.

So, how do I do this, you ask?

    Ways to stimulate “holistic detoxification”

There are many techniques available to help in this process, some more basic than others. But any emotional release techniques are supportive of physical and mental wellness

    1. JournalingOne of the best places to start is by journaling. When you’re doing a Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Pack over your liver, you might want to start with focusing on the unprocessed emotions that are typically stored here, like anger and resentment. Ask yourself, “What anger or resentment might I be storing in my body? Is there anything I need to let go of?” Write it all down in your journal. Now, keep in mind, the anger and resentment may be directed towards yourself or your current situation. Or you might even have been brought up around an angry parent, and you’ve taken their emotions on yourself because at the time, you could not process them.   Whatever your case may be, stay open and honest with yourself. Remember, you can always throw away your writing after you are finished. 2. Essential OilsAnother option is adding essential oils to your Castor Oil Pack. Lemongrass is thought to help support the liver and release resentment, plus it smells great. Just add a few drops onto your Castor Oil Pack before you apply it.Please note: You may want to do a skin sensitivity patch test before you use essential oils. 3. TappingFor deeper work, try Tapping, also known as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), around the issues that arise during your journaling session. If you’re unfamiliar with Tapping, a simple online search will pull up many free resources. Apply your Castor Oil Pack and tap away! 4. EMDR™If you’ve experienced severe trauma in your life, you may want to investigate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR™) therapy.Speaking of therapy, a holistic therapist may also be very beneficial, as none of these suggestions are meant to take the place of medical or therapeutic care. 5.  Mind Body Spirit Release™ Lastly, for those who want to go really deep and uncover and release emotions, limiting beliefs, generational imprints and more, Mind Body Spirit Release™ may be a good path.

Your Complete Guide On How To Do A Castor Oil Pack

Are you wondering what to expect after using the Castor Oil Pack for Liver?

Or, are you curious to know more about the Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Pack before you add it to your daily self-care routine?

Is this you? This blog discusses everything you need to know about Castor Oil and Castor Oil Packs and how the two work together to support both your liver and overall wellness.

So, what is a Castor Oil Pack?

Castor Oil Packs are an ancient self-care practice and foundation of naturopathic and functional medicine popularized in the early 1900s by Edgar Cayce.

This traditional natural wellness practice involves applying Castor Oil to a cotton compress and wearing it on the body (typically over the liver) to support liver detox, deeper sleep, less stress, better bowel movements, and more.

The Castor Oil Pack lost its appeal because of its messy and time-consuming nature and difficulty accessing quality organic materials. Makes sense, agreed?”

So, we made this practice easy for the 21st century with the Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Pack for Liver, a tried and true modernized Castor Oil Pack that’s heatless, less-mess, and easy to use.

Would you love to know 3 vital body functions you can support with Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Packs?

Well, we have an Infographic for you that explains the 3 key benefits of Castor Oil Packs, loved and recommended by wellness practitioners.

With consistent use, Castor Oil Packs can support your body from the outside in. So much so that many people who love and use Castor Oil Packs think of it as a game changer.

Queen of the Thrones happy customer testimony

Where to wear your Castor Oil Pack?

Castor Oil Packs can be worn all over the body from your thyroid, your tummy, your pelvic area, your joints, and even your eyes – but they are thought to have the most systemic benefit when worn over the liver area. This is because the liver area is where the regulatory systems of your body all intersect and interconnect (your hormonal, immune, nervous and digestive systems).

Many people assume that you need to wear your Liver Pack right on your liver to get the benefits. Is this you too?

However, this is not the case. Anatomically, the liver is located near the top of your right ribcage under the right breast. It would be a little difficult to wear your pack there, agreed?

Liver location in the body by Queen of the Thrones

The ideal placement for your Castor Oil Pack is your liver area, over top of the dermatomes connected to your liver.

You see, the anti-inflammatory component of Castor Oil called ricinoleic acid1 permeates the epidermis because of its molecular weight, this is where your circulatory and lymphatic vessels lie. And when placed over your liver area, these Packs activate the somatic and visceral reflexes (response to a stimulus) supporting the activity of internal detox and cleansing organs like the liver, kidney, gut, gallbladder, and more.

So, this is why it’s ideal to wear the Pack over your liver area, below your ribs on the right side of your body. This covers your T5-T12 dermatomes which support the gallbladder, liver, diaphragm, stomach, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, small intestine, appendix, adrenals, uterus and colon.

How to use your Castor Oil Liver Pack?

It’s as easy as following the two-step process so you can support your body from the outside in.

Step One: Apply 1 tbsp of Organic Castor Oil to the soft organic cotton flannel side of your Pack.

*Always add your Organic Castor Oil to the middle of the pack to help keep the oil from the seams, as the Pack is not 100% impermeable.

Dermatomes of the Body Supported by The Castor Oil Pack for Liver

Step Two: Place the soft cotton flannel side of your Castor Oil Pack over your liver area (under your right rib cage) and tie it in place with the soft, stretchy, adjustable straps.

*Remember: Castor Oil WILL STAIN clothing & bed sheets so take extra care when preparing your Pack. Of course, you can always wear an old t-shirt over your Pack just in case.

With regular practice, you will train your body to respond better to stress. Amazing, agreed?

    And the best part…

You can wear your Pack for one hour before bed, and even better, wear your Pack overnight to help you cleanse while you sleep.

You see, your body naturally cleanses when you’re sleeping. So, by wearing your Castor Oil Liver Pack overnight you’re supporting natural liver detoxification, lymphatic drainage2, and colon cleansing3,14

Learn how to use Castor oil Packs for liver designed by Queen of the Thrones

How do Castor Oil Packs support your liver?

Castor Oil is a unique vegetable oil derived from the castor bean. It contains 90% ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid structure strikingly similar to that of prostaglandin E1. In simple terms, it is a strong anti-inflammatory4 agent in our body.

    Here’s how it works…

Mechanical: The compression of your Castor Oil Pack placed over the liver (slightly covering the lower free ribs under your right rib cage), combined with the movement of your breathing muscles, serves like a pump to your lymphatic system, encouraging lymphatic drainage2. Amazing, agreed?

Neurological: When placed on specific dermatomes, this activates the somatic visceral reflexes triggering the activity of internal detox and cleansing organs like the liver, kidney, gut, gallbladder, and more.

A combination of both mechanical and neurological: The Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Pack stimulates the body’s skin receptors that stimulate the natural oxytocin5 feedback loop activating the vagus nerve, shifting the body into the ‘rest and digest’ state where liver detox is optimized.

This gentle compression of the Castor Oil Pack stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system6,7,8. Amazing, right?

You can learn more about the 3 vital body functions you can support with Castor Oil Packs in your FREE infographic.

What are the key benefits of Castor Oil Liver Packs?

First, let’s look at the most important function of your Castor Oil Pack, which is to help…

    1. Balance inflammation

Did you know that inflammation is part of your body’s process of fighting against things that harm it (like infections) in an attempt to heal and protect itself?

So, when something damages your cells, your body releases chemicals that trigger an inflammatory response from your immune system10. It’s a natural process, but inflammation is often out of control in today’s modern world.

When you are inflamed, your body is acidic. However, the enzymes in your body don’t function properly in an acidic environment, as they require an alkaline environment11

Inflammation is like fire, and what does a firefighter do to put out a fire? They put water on it. Central abdominal bloating and weight gain are often caused because our body sends water to the site of inflammation to ‘put out the fire’. Makes sense, agreed?

So, since Castor Oil contains ricinoleic acid, a natural anti-inflammatory1-4, it may support the natural reduction of water retention and swelling.

Castor Oil also supports detox by helping to…

    2. Preserve glutathione status

    Glu…tat…what?

Well, glutathione is the master detoxification agent of the body12. But, unfortunately, it can quickly be depleted mainly because of chronic diseases, including autoimmune conditions like Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.

Studies on rats have shown that Castor Oil is supportive of preserving glutathione levels13.  You see, glutathione is an antioxidant that pulls toxins out of your body, and that’s why we get depleted so quickly.

Castor Oil also supports the elimination of waste from your body by…

    3. Help move your bowels

lOne of the major processes of your body is your bowel movements. If you can’t eliminate (a.k.a go to the bathroom), you self-intoxicate.

Remember those anti-inflammatory prostaglandins that Castor Oil mimics? Well, these are the same ones that attach to the receptors of smooth muscle14 in the body, namely your gut and uterus.

So, this physical smooth muscle function moves things out of the body, and your Castor Oil Liver Pack helps stimulate it3,14 so you can go to the bathroom naturally and rid yourself of feeling backed up. Sounds wonderful, agreed?

Lastly, Castor Oil aids in maintaining your general wellness by helping your body…

    4. Microbiome balance

The microbiome and bacteria in your gut are a mix of good and bad bugs. The balance of the two influences your well-being. So, when the balance is off, you feel unwell. Makes sense, right?

Biofilm is a big bad barrier that bad bacteria can produce in the microbiome. It keeps the bad bugs in and the good bugs out. Unfortunately, this causes severe stress on the body, inhibiting cleansing and detoxification.

Castor Oil is one of the only natural substances that can breakdown biofilm15,16,17, allowing your body to maintain a balanced ecology (environment).

Smart Bowel movements with Queen of the Thrones Castor Oil Packs

In combination with a good diet, adequate fluid intake (water/tea), flow (urine, poop) mindset, and exercise, Castor Oil Packs are one of the cornerstones to supporting your bowels.

All in all, starting with your tried and true Queen of the Thrones® Castor Oil Pack for Liver, you will be able to support…

    • Gentle liver detox
    • Colon cleansing3,14
    • Lymphatic drainage2

However, not all Castor Oil Packs are made equal.

Your checklist for good quality Castor Oil (like Queen of the Thrones®):

    Common questions

    1. Why do I have to replace it after two months of regular use?

The traditional way of doing Castor Oil Packs was to use the SAME compress over and over and over. This was okay, before the industrial revolution when our environment wasn’t as toxic.

We now know that the increasing environmental toxicity impacts wellness. This is why it’s important to add fresh oil every time and replace your pack every 2 months for ease of use, comfort, and sanitation.

    2. Why can’t I just drink Castor Oil or rub it on my skin?

Castor Oil orally is a stimulant laxative that causes cramping and makes you poop. Simply rubbing it on your skin and wearing a T-shirt overtop only gives you about 50% of the benefits. You need the pack to help move your body into a relaxed state via gentle compression to support liver detox, lymphatic drainage, and colon cleansing.

    3. Why can’t I use organic bamboo or any old cloth?

ONLY use organic cotton, wool or linen! Other materials like ‘organic’ bamboo are highly processed with chemicals. Old clothing may be made with harmful dyes, bleach, and flame retardants that you don’t want to absorb into your body.

    4. What if I’m on medications, hormone replacement therapy, birth control pills, IUDs, or supplements?

Castor Oil Packs are safely combined with any medication and supplement and may even help them work better. There are no known contraindications or interactions with medication, and they are safe to use with hormone replacements, TTC medicines, birth control pills, and IUDs.

    5. Isn’t it messy?

That’s why we created this LESS-mess pack. It’s not entirely messless, but LESS messy than a DIY pack. Castor Oil does stain, so always wear an old T-shirt.

    6. Don’t I have to add heat?

Extra heat isn’t necessary because it’s engineered to hold in your body heat naturally.
